ABOUT THE PRODUCTION

Starting this coming summer, the Hagen Quartet will present its own cycle at the Festival every year. During this Festival season, the Quartet begins its presentation of Beethoven’s complete string quartets in two concerts. In addition – and this is another essential part of the programme planning – the extraordinary musicians from Salzburg will also be heard in a concert with a larger cast of musicians, joining forces with other renowned soloists. During the first year, for example, Daniel Harding will conduct the ensemble in Schoenberg’s Chamber Symphony, Op. 9.
