The Italian soprano Giuliana Gianfaldoni was born in Taranto in 1992 and was still very young when she received her first singing lessons from Carmela Apollonio. She later studied singing at the Giovan Battista Martini Conservatory in Bologna and attended a number of masterclasses, including ones given by Nicola Martinucci, Carmela Apollonio, Donato Di Stefano and Bruna Baglioni. In 2012 she enrolled at the Accademia Musicale Aimaro, where her teachers include Alberto Gazale. In January 2014 she was a prizewinner out of a field of more than two hundred international entrants in the Competition for Young European Opera Singers organized by the Associazione Lirica e Concertistica Italiana (AsLiCo).

In October 2013 Giuliana Gianfaldoni made her debut as Despina (Così fan tutte) at the Ópera de Tenerife, returning in February 2014 for Zerlina in a new production of Don Giovanni. As a member of the Young Singers Project she will be heard at the 2014 Festival as Konstanze in Die Entführung aus dem Serail for Children.
