Helga Rabl-Stadler, Festival President and jury member, thanked Montblanc for ten years of active support. “The Young Directors Project is a launch-pad for young artists and an idea-giver for the Festival as an institution at the same time,” she said.
Ingrid Roosen-Trinks announced that the partnership would be continued. The sponsorship agreement was extended by three years, with an option for five years. “The Young Directosr Project powered by Montblanc celebrates its ten-year anniversary this year, and it has become hard to imagine the Salzburg Festival without it. From the beginning, Montblanc had the goal to support extraordinary productions in different languages and from other cultures. In order to ensure the continuing of this innovative competition for international stage directors and their companies, Montblanc has extended its contract for another three years – with an additional option until 2016. This allows the new Director of Drama, Sven-Eric Bechtolf, to make long-range plans,” says Ingrid Roosen-Trinks, head of the Montblanc Cultural Foundation.
The award ceremony for the 2011 Montblanc Young Directors Award for the ten-year anniversary takes place on Wednesday, August 24, at 11:00 am at republic, Anton-Neumayr-Platz 2 in Salzburg.
The prize consists of 10,000 Euros and is awarded to the best ensemble every year. Furthermore, the winner receives the unique Montblanc Max Reinhardt Pen, designed especially for this occasion.
