This is the wonderful result of the fundraising campaign of the American Friends of the Salzburg Festival in New York.

This project was taken on by the Salzburg Festival Society represented by Gerhard Andlinger and Isabelle Harnoncourt two months after the nomination of Artistic Director Alexander Pereira in 2009. At the gala evening, which took place at Sotheby’s on November 15th, Alexander Pereira gave a much applauded outlook on the program 2012. He was supported by Jonas Kaufmann, Carlo Colombara, Bradley Moore, Christoph Eschenbach and the young Chinese violinist Dan Zhu.

The appearance in New York was the highlight of the program presentation series of Helga Rabl-Stadler and Alexander Pereira, partly accompanied by drama director Sven-Eric Bechtolf. Until now, this “road show“ has led from Salzburg to New York via London and Zurich. Munich, Paris and Vienna will follow.

W.A. Mozart: Die Zauberflöte (Magic Flute) premieres in the Felsenreitschule on July 27th  2012, Conductor: Nikolaus Harnoncourt, Concentus Musicus Wien, Concert Association of the Vienna State Opera Chorus, Stage Director: Jens-Daniel Herzog. Please click here for more information.
