Among all the applicants, the jury will select three candidates who will have the opportunity to conduct at the famous Felsenreitschule in Salzburg during the “Award Concert Weekend” (May 10-12, 2013). The concerts will be open to the public and feature the Camerata Salzburg, the Mozarteum Orchestra Salzburg and the Munich Radio Orchestra. The final award winner will perform with the Gustav Mahler Youth Orchestra as part of the regular Salzburg Festival program on August 17, 2013. The Award Winner’s Concert will also be documented by a CD production as part of the edition “Salzburg Festival Documents”. Winning this international award should give the conductor thus honored a major impulse for his or her further career.

The “Nestlé and Salzburg Festival Young Conductors Award” is an initiative by Nestlé and the Salzburg Festival. The prize, which carries a cash value of 15,000 Euros, also signifies another project in the long and intense partnership between Nestlé and the Salzburg Festival and its youth programs, which aim to discover and support young talents.
