Nicolas Stemann, one of the most important directors active on German-language stages today, who last directed Friedrich Schiller’s
Räuber in Salzburg in 2008, returns to devote his attention to
the German tragedy of tragedies: on four weekends, he presents both parts of Goethe’s
Faust as marathon performances. In the main roles, Philipp Hochmair, Sebastian Rudolph and Patrycia Ziolkowska will be seen. Rehearsals with the fabulous ensemble of the Thalia Theater in Hamburg have been ongoing since October – on July 28, the work will have its premiere at the Perner-Insel in Hallein. Our trailer gives you a brief preview of the director’s musical approach to this tradition-steeped drama.
