Alessandro Giangrande

Alessandro Giangrande was born in Monopoli near Bari in 1978 and studied singing at the Conservatory in his hometown with Serafina Tuzzi and the violin with Francesco D’Orazio. He also attended masterclasses in Baroque singing with María Cristina Kiehr, Roberta Invernizzi, Rosa Dominguez, Claudio Cavina, Jill Feldman, René Clemencic and Paul Esswood.

He appeared in Trisha Brown’s production of Monteverdi’s L’Orfeo under René Jacobs at the Festival d’Aix-en-Provence, as well as in L’incoronazione di Poppea and Donizetti’s Il diluvio universale under the direction of Leonardo García Alarcón.

Other projects include appearances with the Academia Montis Regalis and Alessandro De Marchi and with Concerto Italiano and Rinaldo Alessandrini.

He has recorded several CDs for the Naïve, Ambronay and Tactus labels.
