Among Valentiy’s recent and upcoming engagements is the role of Kulygin in Drei Schwestern at the Salzburg Festival, A Venetian Merchant in Sadko, Il Commendatore in Don Giovanni, A monk in Don Carlos, Don Basilio in Il Barbiere di Siviglia, The King’s Herald in Lohengrin, Prince Gudal in Demon, Sobakin in The Tsar’s Bride, Old Gypsy in Aleko with Bolshoi Theatre Moscow next to his engagements as an ensemble member of Bolshoi Theatre of Belarus.
Other past engagements include King Rene in Iolanta, Sobakin in The Tsar’s Bride, Galitsky in Prince Igor, Timur in Turandot, Ramfis in Aida, and Sarastro in Die Zauberflöte for Bolshoi Theatre of Belarus, Don Basilio in Il Barbiere di Siviglia, Colline in La Bohème, Sobakin in The Tsar’s Bride, Henry V in Anna Bolena at the stage of Bolshoi Theatre Moscow, Prince Ivan Khovansky in Khovanshchina Stanislavsky Theatre Moscow, Gudal in Rubinstein’s The Demon at Bard college Festival USA, Rene in Iolanta with Opera Rennes, Opera Nantes, Angers, Zaccaria in Nabucco with Dorset Opera Festival, Gremin in Eugene Onegin for Opéra de Toulon and Israeli Opera Tel Aviv, Boris Timofeevich in Lady Macbeth of Mzensk at Hessische Staatsoper Wiesbaden.
He debuted on the stage of Bolshoi Theatre Moscow in 2005 with the role of Mussorgsky in Desyatnikov’s Children of Rosenthal and has since performed parts such as High Priest in Nabucco, Captain Ramballe in Prokofiev’s War and Peace, Surin in The Queen of Spades, A Mandarin in Turandot, Gusli player in The Legend of the Invisible City of Kitezh etc. He has also appeared at the Savonlinna Festival, Finland, Ljubljana Music Festival, Slovenia and Teatro alla Scala, Milano.
Since 2009, Valentiy is a soloist of the National Opera and Ballet Theatre of Belarus. His operatic repertoire comprises Zaccaria in Nabucco, Gremin in Eugene Onegin, Basilio in The Barber of Seville, Sobakin in The Tsar’s Bride, Colline in La bohème, King Rene in Iolanta, Grandfather Frost in Rimsky-Korsakov’s The Snow Maiden, Dosifey in Khovanshchina, Ramfis in Aida, Galitsky in Prince Igor, and Timur in Turandot among others. A guest soloist at Mikhailovsky Theatre St Petersburg, he performed Gremin in Eugene Onegin and King Rene in Iolanta.
