Anna Tetruashvili

The Israeli mezzo-soprano Anna Tetruashvili is a member of the Opera Studio of the Gärtnerplatztheater in Munich for the 2023/24 season. At the same time, she is undertaking a master‘s degree in musical stage performance (opera) at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna, studying with Margit Klaushofer and Christoph U. Meier.

Anna Tetruashvili studied with Natalia Volchenko at the State Conservatory in Tbilisi, and was a member of the opera studio there, appearing in roles such as Cherubino (Le nozze di Figaro), Second Lady (Die Zauberflöte) and Giannetta (L’elisir d’amore). As part of her studies in Vienna she performed at Schlosstheater Schönbrunn in 2022 as Eduige (Rodelinda) and in 2023 as Idamante in a production of Idomeneo conducted by Christoph U. Meier and directed by Michael Sturminger.

At the Gärtnerplatztheater during the 2023/24 season she has sung Tisbe (La Cenerentola) and Sandman and Dew Fairy (Hänsel und Gretel) and covered the role of Cherubino.

Anna Tetruashvili received a Bärenreiter Special Prize at the International Mozart Competition (Salzburg, 2023), first prize at the international competition ‘Premio Scarlatti’ (Vilnius, 2022), second prize at the International Antonín Dvořák Singing Competition (Karlovy Vary, 2018) and third prize at the Jerusalem International Opera Competition (2018). In 2018 she participated in a masterclass with Silvana Bazzoni Bartoli as part of the Gstaad Menuhin Music Festival; Bazzoni Bartoli subsequently invited her to take part in two further masterclasses at the Opéra de Monte-Carlo in 2023.
