Daniel Lommatzsch, born in Hamburg in 1977, studied at the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Arts in Berlin and has worked at many German-speaking theatres such as the Thalia Theater Hamburg, the Münchner Kammerspiele and the Maxim Gorki Theater Berlin since 2002. He has been a member of the ensemble at Schauspielhaus Zürich since 2019 and has appeared in Stefan Pucher’s productions as Haimon in Antigone and as Richmond in Richard III, as Santing in Jan Bosse’s production of Kleist’s Die Familie Schroffenstein and as Achill in Penthesilea, directed by Christina Rast. He has also worked continuously with directors such as Luk Perceval, Nicolas Stemann, Jette Steckel and Falk Richter.

Daniel Lommatzsch has also appeared in cinema and television films, including Uli Edel’s Baader Meinhof Komplex, Tim Trachte’s series Drift – Partners in Crime, Maria-Anna Westholzer’s Heute stirbt hier Kainer and Sven Bohse’s Das Geheimnis des Totenwaldes; he is currently in front of the camera in a double role for a television two-parter.
