Dominik Dos-Reis was born in Lower Austria in 1993 and grew up in Austria and France. He studied philosophy as well as theatre, film and media studies at the University of Vienna. He then completed his acting studies at the Music and Arts University of the City of Vienna (MUK) from 2015 to 2019. During his studies, he was already a winner of the Fidelio competition in the Fidelio.creation category and performed in Dschungel Wien, among others.
Further guest engagements took him to the Burgtheater Vienna in 2017, where he appeared in Radetzkymarsch and met director Johan Simons. He eventually brought him to Bochum, where Dominik Dos-Reis has been a permanent member of the Schauspielhaus ensemble since the 2018/19 season. There he shone in various productions by Johan Simon and many more. In addition to his roles at the theatre, he has also appeared in various film productions.
In 2023, Dominik Dos-Reis was awarded the Alfred Kerr Actor Prize at the Berliner Festspiele theatre festival for his performance in Gorky’s Children of the Sun, directed by Mateja Koleznik. In the same year, the theatre magazine Theater Heute named him Young Actor of the Year.
