Juliette Mey
The young mezzo-soprano Juliette Mey is a prizewinner of numerous renowned competitions, among then the Concours Reine Elisabeth, Voix Nouvelles 2023 and the Opéra Jeunes Espoirs Raymond Duffaut. Most recently she was nominated in the category ‘Révélation Artiste lyrique’ (most promising lyrical artist) at the Victoires de la Musique Classique 2024. She participated in the Académie du Jardin des Voix of William Christie’s Les Arts Florissants and was a member of Génération Opéra’s Promotion 2022 and of the 2022 Académie du Festival d’Aix.
Still at an early stage in her career, Juliette Mey appeared during the 2022/23 season in the title role of a young-audience version of Rossini’s La Cenerentola at the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées, the Opéra de Rouen and the Opéra National de Bordeaux, and performed the singing role in the ballet Mayerling at the Paris Opéra. She appeared in concerts with Les Talens Lyriques under Christophe Rousset, the Ricercar Consort and the l’Opéra Orchestre national Montpellier Occitanie, and with musicians from the Orchestre d’Auvergne. In the 2023/24 season her appearances include Lully’s Alceste with Les Épopées in Versailles, Paris and Vienna, a tour of Purcell’s The Fairy Queen with Les Arts Florissant’s Jardin du Voix, Isaura in Rossini’s Tancredi at the Opéra de Rouen, Amore and Valletto in Monteverdi’s L’incoronazione di Poppea at the Opéra de Toulon, Juno in Rameau’s Platée with La Chapelle Harmonique at the Opéra Royal de Versailles and her debut at the Salzburg Whitsun Festival.
Following singing training at the Conservatoire de Toulouse and at CRR Montpellier with Léa Pasquel, Juliette Mey concentrated on studying music of the 17th and 18th centuries at Pôle Baroque from 2018 to 2021. In 2021 she participated in a masterclass with Jeanne Piland. She is currently studying at the Paris Conservatoire.
