Liliana Benini

Liliana Benini was born in 1991 in Milan, and studied acting at the Scuola del Teatro Stabile in Turin, under Antonio Latella and Cristina Pezzoli among others.

Since 2015 she has regularly appeared in productions directed by Christoph Marthaler, including Lulu at the Hamburg State Opera (2017), Universe, Incomplete at the Ruhrtriennale (2018), Das Weinen (Das Wähnen) at the Schauspielhaus in Zurich (2020), Orphée et Eurydice at the Zurich Opera House (2021), Giuditta at the Bavarian State Opera in Munich (2021) and Der letzte Pfiff – ein Drehschwindel at Theater Basel (2022).

She appears in many different artistic contexts as an actress and performer. She has performed in films such as Peter Greenaway’s Walking to Paris (2019) and Riccardo Bernasconi and Francesca Reverdito’s Papaya 69 (2023), in children’s and youth theatre productions such as Peter Pan – il sogno di Wendy in Turin and La nostra maestra è un troll in Perugia, and in site-specific and landscape theatre productions with the company Campsirago Residenza.

She has also performed in plays by writers including Heiner Müller, Giovanni Testori, Anton Chekhov and Francesca Garolla.
