Nicola Mastroberardino

Born in Zurich in 1978, Nicola Mastroberardino studied acting at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Zürich. His engagements took him to Schauspiel Essen from 2005 to 2010, Schauspielhaus Bochum from 2010 to 2015 and Theater Basel from 2015 to 2019. In 2019, he followed Andreas Beck to the Residenztheater.

In 2008 he received the Aalto Stage Prize for Young Artists, in 2009 the Academy of Arts Sponsorship Prize in the Performing Arts section, in 2013 the Bochum Theater Prize in the “Established Artist” category and in 2020 the Kurt-Meisel-Prize. He has worked with directors including David Bösch, Anselm Weber, Sebastian Nübling, Lisa Nielebock, Hermann Schmidt-Rahmer, Nora Schlocker, Thorleifur Örn Arnarsson, Stefan Bachmann, Karin Henkel, Bastian Kraft and Thom Luz. Under the direction of Ulrich Rasche, he appeared in „Nathan der Weise“ at the Salzburg Festival in 2023. He was invited to the Berlin Theatertreffen in 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2023 with productions by Simon Stone, Ulrich Rasche, Claudia Bauer and Philipp Stölzl.

 

He has been a permanent ensemble member at the Residenztheater München since 2019/2020.
