Since the NRW Junior Ballet was founded in 2014, the support programme for 12 young talents has been closely linked to the company. It is an integral part of cultural education and cooperates with a large number of educational institutions in North Rhine-Westphalia. Founded as a two-year training programme for young dancers on their way to professional life, this project, which is unique in its structure worldwide, has now become Dortmund’s “ambassador of dance” thanks to its extensive guest performances. The NRW Junior Ballet offers young dance talents the opportunity to gain professional and stage experience for two years in a professional setting, to participate in productions and to develop and realise independent dance projects in collaboration with choreographers such as Demis Volpi, Raimondo Rebeck, Craig Davidson, Xenia Wiest, Juanjo Arques and Itzik Galili in order to perfect their art.
