Robin Tritschler

The Irish tenor Robin Tritschler is a graduate of the Royal Academy of Music and was a BBC New Generation Artist. He has appeared with many leading orchestras including the London Philharmonic Orchestra, the Orchestre National de Lyon, the Concertgebouw Orchestra, the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Orquestra Gulbenkian, the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra, the Rotterdam Philharmonic and the NDR Radio Philharmonie and at festivals such as the BBC Proms, the Risør Chamber Music Festival and the Salzburg Festival.

During the 2023/24 season he made his debut with the London Symphony Orchestra under Nathalie Stutzmann in Bruckner’s Te Deum, appeared with the Munich Philharmonic Orchestra under Raphaël Pichon in Mozart’s Mass in C minor, sang in the St Matthew Passion with Collegium Vocale 1704 at the Bachfest and returned to the Oxford International Song Festival with Die schöne Müllerin and a recital inspired by William Blake.

In 2022/23 he sang Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, Haydn’s The Creation with the Ulster Orchestra, Britten’s Serenade with the Orchestra della Toscana, Bach’s St John Passion with the Finnish Baroque Orchestra and Mendelssohn’s Lobgesang with Ensemble Pygmalion. He also performed the role of Don Ottavio (Don Giovanni) with the Glyndebourne Festival Opera.

Important opera appearances include the Evangelist in a new production of the St Matthew Passion at Theater Basel, Jaquino (Fidelio) under Antonio Pappano at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, and Ferrando (Così fan tutte) for Garsington Opera. His roles with Welsh National Opera include Count Almaviva (Il barbiere di Siviglia), Nemorino (L’elisir d’amore), Narraboth (Salome), Ferrando, Don Ottavio and Belmonte (Die Entführung aus dem Serail).

He has also appeared in numerous contemporary works such as Roger Waters’s Ça Ira and Will Gregory’s Piccard in Space, Jonathan Harvey’s Wagner Dream, Louis Andriessen’s De Materie at the Ruhrtriennale and Thomas Larcher’s new opera Das Jagdgewehr in his Bregenz Festival debut.

Robin Tritschler’s discography includes a live recording of Mozart’s Requiem with Le Concert Spirituel under Hervé Niquet (Alpha Classics), the much-praised recording No Exceptions, No Exemptions with Malcolm Martineau (Signum Records) and the album Songs for Peter Pears, released in June 2024.
