Steffen Höld

Born in Ulm in 1969, Steffen Höld studied directing and acting at the Mozarteum in Salzburg. Engagements as an actor have taken him to the Schauspiel Köln, the Staatstheater Nürnberg and the Theater Rampe Stuttgart, where he worked with Thirza Bruncken and Christoph Schlingensief. He then was a member of the ensemble at the Schauspielhaus Graz, the Phönix Theater in Linz and from 2007 to 2015 at the Schauspielhaus in Vienna, where he worked with Felicitas Brucker and Barbara Weber among others. He has directed his own productions at the Phönix Theater Linz, Schauspielhaus Salzburg, Garage X in Vienna and Schauspielhaus Wien. In 2015, he became a member of the ensemble at the Theater Basel, where he worked with Nora Schlocker, Julia Hölscher, Tilmann Köhler, Felicitas Brucker, Thom Luz and Antonio Latella, as well as creating his own productions. In the 2019/2020 season, he followed Andreas Beck to Munich and has been a permanent ensemble member at the Residenztheater München since.
