Mezzo-soprano Valentina Stadler was born and raised in Karlsruhe and began singing lessons at the age of 13. Her vocal studies in New York and Berlin were followed by engagements as Carmen in a new version of Bizet’s opera, the Newspaper Seller (Les Mamelles de Tirésias) and Cherubino (Le nozze di Figaro) at Opera (e)Studio in Tenerife. She appeared as a soloist in an opera gala at the beginning of the 2015/16 season at the Konzerthaus in Berlin, followed by her house debut at the Teatro Comunale in Bologna as Cherubino. She has also appeared as Myrtale (Thaïs) at the Salzburg Festival, Mercédès (Carmen) at the Ópera de Tenerife, the Angel (Das Paradies und die Peri) at the Beethovenfest in Bonn and Gismonda (Ottone) at the Innsbruck Festival of Early Music, as well as giving recitals with pianist Daniel Heide.
From 2017 to 2021 Valentina Stadler was a member of the Gärtnerplatz Theatre in Munich, where she appeared in many roles, including Nancy (Martha), Hänsel (Hänsel und Gretel), Dorabella (Così fan tutte), Concepción (LʼHeure espagnole) and Maddalena (Rigoletto). Next season she will appear as Gismonda at the International Handel Festival in Göttingen.
