Vincenzo Capezzuto

Vincenzo Capezzuto’s international singing career is closely linked to the ensemble L’Arpeggiata under the direction of Christina Pluhar, with whom he has so far recorded six albums for the Virgin Classics / Erato label. He can also be heard alongside Cecilia Bartoli singing 18th-century Venetian gondoliers’ songs on the album Gondola with Il Pomo d’Oro.
Further projects include the role of Venus in a production of Monteverdi’s Il ballo delle ingrate with Capella Cracoviensis and the Vivaldi programme Vedrò col mio diletto with the Orchestra da Camera di Perugia, as well as appearances with the Accordone Ensemble and the European Union Baroque Orchestra. Numerous other collaborations reflect his wide repertoire: he has created programmes of works from Monteverdi to Bach with Tetraktis Percussioni, as well as of compositions by Vivaldi and Piazzolla with the Wrocław Baroque Orchestra and Krzysztof Meisinger. With the violinist Pavel Vernikov he has performed works by Schubert, Vivaldi and Bach, as well as Neapolitan compositions.
Vincenzo Capezzuto has appeared as a soloist at leading concert halls and at major festivals, including Carnegie Hall, the Wigmore Hall, the BBC Proms, the Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles, the Cadillac Shanghai Concert Hall, Melbourne Recital Centre, Ravenna Festival, the Sochi Winter International Arts Festival, the Quincena Musical in San Sebastián and the Hong Kong Arts Festival.
In 2011 he founded the ensemble Soqquadro Italiano with Claudio Borgianni. This ensemble’s productions bring together different art forms such as music, dance, singing and the visual arts, in repertoire ranging from early music to jazz, pop, and electronic music.
