Zino Wey

Zino Wey, born in Basel (CH) in 1988, works as a director, set designer and author in various contexts. Productions at state, municipal and independent theatres have taken him to the Münchner Kammerspiele, Schauspielhaus Zürich, Staatsschauspiel Stuttgart, Residenztheater München, Nationaltheater Mannheim, Theater Lübeck, Oper Heidelberg, Schauspielhaus Wien, Bühnen Bern, Kaserne Basel and Ballhaus Ost Berlin, among others. From 2012 – 14 he was assistant director to Johan Simons at the Münchner Kammerspiele, where he regularly realised his own projects. Zino Wey has also been a fellow of the Ingmar Bergmann Foundation on Farö in Sweden, Pro Helvetia in Egypt, Taiwan and Belgium, as well as Writer in Residence at the Cité des Arts in Paris / Atelier Mondial. In 2017 and 2018, Wey was nominated as newcomer artist of the year in the Theater Heute journal.

He has already realised past editions of the “Forgotten Plays” together with Simon Strauß at the Volksbühne Berlin in 2020 and in Bern in 2022.
