Opening 2019

“When dreams are so strong and vivid that they can cast their spell on other people and seduce them into dreaming along, this leads to the magical reality I call theatre.” This statement by Max Reinhardt is nowhere more applicable than to the Festival Opening Party. Before the Ouverture spirituelle launches the 2019 Festival season, we open our gates, inviting all citizens of Salzburg and our guests to dream with us.

With more than 10,000 free tickets available, there is sure to be something for every taste: Mavie Hörbiger reads from Éric Vuillard’s masterwork Traurigkeit der Erde at the SalzburgKulisse. Kammersängerin Christa Ludwig gives a public master class at the University’s main auditorium, passing on her expertise to the participants of the Young Singers Project. And at the Landestheater, you can attend an open rehearsal for the drama production Jugend ohne Gott. Curtain up!
