Having been selected by audition for the Summer Academy and mentored there by members of the Vienna Philharmonic, music students from Austrian universities will perform works ranging from classical to modern repertoire. Two different programmes offer solo pieces and chamber music, as well as an immersive dive into the world of the audition process, which every up-and-coming musician has to successfully complete in order to win a position in a professional orchestra.

This year, talented young wind and brass musicians from Carinthia will team up with their counterparts from Salzburg. This special concert of the Vienna Philharmonic, which will feature opera melodies as well as traditional polkas and marches, takes place under the baton of Karl Jeitler for the 15th time.
